Gandalf’s Windows 10PE x64 Threshold 2 build 10586 Fall update version 12-29-2015
This is is the my third release of a Windows 10 x64 PE and is the Threshold 2 build 10586 Fall update version. As with the previous version this provides support for running 32bit programs (WoW64). The apps listed below are included in this build. I have removed the portable apps menu and all the apps are now in the start menu. They still reside on your USB so they can be updated if needed. New with this version is the ability to switch from a system account to an admin account. This allows for running apps like Teamviewer which refuse to run on the system account. It starts up into the admin account by default. New apps in this release include Windows Defender, Teamviewer, AOMEI Partition Assistant and more. Full list below. Checksums at the end of this post.
Application Notes
The firewall is disabled by default so file sharing will work. For Windows Defender to work you need to enable the firewall before running defender. System Tools>Firewall Enable
The error on opening Teamviewer is because the application is trying to open a web page whose class is not registered. Ignore the error.
Start Menu
Windows Version
It’s a very large download almost 3gb so be patient it can take 20-40 minutes (depending on your internet speed) to download. After downloading, burn the bootable ISO file to USB using rufus or a similar program to create your bootable USB. Do not burn to DVD, since many apps need to write data to the application folder. A BIG THANKS to everyone over at theOven.org
Some shortcuts in the Start menu will not work since these were my personal licensed versions of the apps.

thank you, i will try it soon (tomorow for me)
but I have problems to insert the guest additions in “virtual box” , more exact to make them “persistent”
I don’t use Virtual Box. A lot of apps wont work right in a Virtual machine since the USB shows up as a non-writable cd/dvd and many apps need to write to the application folder.
Corneliu apostol, I guess this might be because guest additions must make changes in the OS (drivers and probably Windows registry), and only take effect after restart. This is not possible when OS is on ISO (non-writable, as gandalf said). I tried to install guest additions by booting from USB, but this has another issues under VirtualBox. I did not try it but maybe creating a virtual disk of the VM and copying ISO contents on it would solve some problems (I also don’t know how to transfer boot sectors in this case).
Gandalf, thanks for this great compilation, I’m just beginning to test it (previously worked with your Win 8).
ISO isn’t on OneDrive. Can you copy it there? Thanks
Should be working now.
OneDrive still doesn’t work for me. The site says:
We’re unable to complete your request
Microsoft account is experiencing technical problems. Please try again later.
sounds like an issue with you. no one else has complained.
Yes, I guess OneDrive service is intermittent … It wasn’t working this morning, but it works now.
Yeah, it wasn’t working for me earlier but works now as well.
Can you please do up a version with no app installed but have the desktop shortcut items being read from a folder outside of the boot environment? That way I can have the smallest size PE possible but am able to including customised apps I need to my liking.
In my normal pc, I set desktop path to D:\Desktop so Windows bootup read from D:\Desktop.
My reason for wanting this is since a PE doesn’t remember/save anything you change on next reboot, by having Desktop outside the boot environment, it can if the desktop changes are saved and read from outside the caged boot enivronment.
Not quite sure what youre asking but short answer is NO.
Why no? No because u don’t want to or you don’t know what I mean or you don’t know where/how to change the Desktop Location Registry entry?
My objectives for my request are.
1. No need for you to add/dictate any extra apps shortcuts on desktop or the startup popup menu. Let each user add whatever each user think is needed/useful to the user indeed.
2. For you to change the desktop location registry to pinpoint it to the an usb drive folder itself(eg \Desktop). This way user can update/add/remove whatever shortcuts in the Desktop folder to whatever portable apps(which still reside on your USB so they can be updated by an user if needed)
Below is a guide on how to change desktop location in standard windows bootup. Wondering if it is possible for you to apply this method for a PE.
To change your default desktop location and do the following:
Open the Registry editor (Regedit.exe)
Browse to the location:
HKCU > Software > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion > Explorer > User Shell Folders.
In the right window pane select the required value (i.e. Desktop).
Insert the new location for the folder to be stored.
Close the registry editor and log off.
you by all means are welcome to do it that way. I am fully aware of how to use regedit. thx
Thanks for all your efforts.
I wonder if you will be producing an updated 32bit version at some point ?
yes
Hello, How about Dotnet 2-4? Is it included in this build? Thanks.
Yes as well as DirectX
That’s great, thanks.
Thank you very much. Works perfect.
Tried to run the ISO in Easy2Boot (Multiboot USB);
Boot OK, but no drive Y (Program files.)
Any tips, solution?
Loading all progs in RAM via Boot.wim is not an acceptable option
Thanks
sorry cant help, I dont use easy2boot.
Hello, On a computer with Windows 8.1 64 bit, I used the latest version of Rufus to put the ISO file on a 4GB usb flash drive. When booting, I get this error:
Status:0xc0000017
Info: There isn’t enough memory available to create a ramdisk device.
Hi again, I wonder if anybody else got the same error. I have 8GB of memory and that should be enough, I guess.
U used uefi-csm, use the mbr as boot ;) (probably used the new rufus installer)
Thank you.
I really liked the portable apps menu, and how it was also working as a convenient tool without even booting into it. Was there some technical reason behind removing it, and are there plans to put it back eventually?
No reason other than I believe it added another layer of complexity to the build, which really wasn’t necessary.
This product you created is incredible!
I just need to add some personal touches: which leads to my MAIN ISSUE! When I edit X:/windows/system32/win10pe.cfg on the boot drive of the usb.. it takes all changes.. and then when I reboot, the usb restores the original files as if I was never there. Hence, I cannot edit this file. This may be a good thing, as that it probably protects against malware.. but it does not help me set up desk icons to reach my critical programs.
How do I edit this file and keep it permanently?
Also, what is the command line language to add FOLDERS to the desktop, such as your folder for PROGRAMS.. (location of all portable warez)
And… Macrium Reflect is seriously out of date. I deleted the contents of that folder in PROGRAMS. Then I copied the raw files from my Macrium 6.1 residing on my regular PC. Unlike the files on the boot drive, these file changes are permanent.
The exe for Macrium 6.1.1225 seems to load, but results for testing are still inconclusive.
Fixing this issue cannot wait for your next release. Thisis because Reflect 5.0 cannot handle restoration of EUFI based images when the target drive is not pre-formatted for GMT. Also, this makes Aomei Backupper useless, as they do not have a solution for that issue in v. 3.2
Nevermind! LOL
I figured out how to customize my desktop. Learned about DISM GUI 4. Then used UlraISO to edit your ISO, isolated the Win10PE.cfg file inside Boot.wim (DISM GUI) and copied coding language inside that file to add my own desktop shortcuts.
However, cannot stress how urgent it is to upgrade Macrium to the latest version. Please note:t Macrium 5 uses a different start up file, so had to augment my own short cut to ‘Reflect.exe.’
I realize your software was first updated Jan 2016.. but you cannot fathom the sheer number of updates and fixes since that time to almost all products.
Plus… the new Opera is something to behold.. it now blocks ads!
Kindly, would like the code language for adding shortcuts INSIDE the Start Menu. Also noticed for ‘exe’ files without embedded icons, you used imageres.dll.. but not sure what software reveals the numeric codes for the selected icon inside the library.
thank you
but OneDrive zip is corrupted, I tried twice
can you fix it?
If you are having onedrive zip all the files then try just downloading the iso file. Onedrive will not zip it. It only zips when you select multiple files or a folder. No one else has mentioned it being corrupt and I just downloaded it and its fine.
Is it possible to add my Acronis TI 2016 to your programs?
Do you use Win10PESE to make this? Can I get your settings file?
Thanks for your good work.
Possibly, but it would require my having it installed on my host machine during time of build and rebuilding the image. More work than i really want to get involved with at the moment.
Thanks for entertaining my silly request…
I’ve got my own Win10PESE going now with Acronis 2016 working.
Looking for an Acronis Universal Restore plugin.
Ive been a big fan of Falcon Fours UBCD, However i believe you just might turn me away!
Awesome work!
Thanks
Bonjour Monsieur .
M r …. LOMBARDI ELIO .
Hi,
Is there any way to change the keyboard settings, need to set it to azerty.
I can’t open language settings, is there another way?
Preferably i’d like to edit the iso so i don’t need set it in PE every time.
Great tool btw!
It has to be done at the time of build. Try the online select language keyboard http://gate2home.com/
Damn, thanks for the reply!
….. there is another way, you can reconfigure language / keyboard / timezone etc via standard DISM commands directed on a mounted boot.wim file.
This way, any Win10PE build can be localised to your country/requirements – I’ve done this on the latest build here:
http://windowsmatters.com/2016/11/10/gandalfs-win10pe-x64-redstone-build-14393-version-10-24-2016/#comment-11898
Hope that helps.
Please accept my honest and sincere thanks!
Keep it up, awesome work!
Any way to disable the windows startup sound?
It’s incredibly loud.
Hmmm. How about pluging your ears :) Easiest way is edit the wim and delelte that startup wav file.
You can also edit the startup.mp3 file (c:\windows\media) and then reduce the volume by using Audacity. It’s easy to do as I just had to do the same thing.
I dropped the volume by 10db which is a lot better. Some systems it was VERY loud while others were normal.
Thanks for these release. I will know if and how is possible change the keyboard in italian language?
Try the online select language keyboard http://gate2home.com/
What is the best program to make WIN10PE USB bootable?
There are many but I like Rufus https://rufus.akeo.ie/
Is there any USB creator can support multiboot and Gandalf?
try easy2boot http://www.easy2boot.com/
Wow.. Just found this. Thanks Gandalf for all your hard work. Just downloaded and 64 bit works GREAT! Yea, it’s not full blown OS, but if you’re needing repair utilities, this is fantastic.
As Always,
Thanks for all your efforts. You are appreciated.
First off let me say that your PE builds are fantastic.
I would like to be able to add a chrome app to google chrome. My problem is it will only let you install it if you sign into the web store. I would like this app to be added by default so that it has persistence or at least already be there so that there is no need to log into google.
Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
what’s the app?
Reditr Web App – The Best Reddit Client
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/reditr-web-app-the-best-r/ejmiceoebcclihjdpnmmkdcmcboekibc?utm_source=chrome-ntp-icon
This is purely for my own benefit. I get bored while working on other peoples PC’s –
I installed it on the PE without signing in http://imgur.com/FCSsbD6
Am i doing it wrong? is there a procedure for adding this type of add-on?
i boot the PE build win10 64bit from a fresh 128gb flash drive. Open google chrome and navigate to web store type in reddit and click add to chrome. Then I get the prompt to log into google.
Not sure where i went wrong.
I just realized I tried it on the new build I’m working on. Will try it on the build your using and let you know
Yeah it asked me to sign into chrome. Just sign in. or wait for a bit for my update
Thank you again for an amazing PE build. Any idea when the next update will be released?
Also are the add ons that we add to chrome persistant?
Likely between 2-4 weeks. and No not persistent
Any update on the timeframe for the next win10 release?
a week or two I should have an update.
You used to have a option to add a program to your selfbooting iso besides a portable app. I’d like to add one app to both the 64 bit and the 32 bit iso to make it more useable for me. Either tell me how or tell me how much you would charge.
Thanks
What is the app?
hello,
in your next build can you make it default in the power options to never turn the display off.
thanks
I own ghost thought my company, what’s is an easy way to add it? Just copy the exe’s to the location of “Lghost” and rename them, or would it be easily to change the start menu links?
Copy the exe’s to the location of “Lghost” and rename them to what the shorcut is asking for, will work.
Thanks a bunch, I am new to this pe/wim stuff. another quick 2 question.
Could you recommend a simple program that will let me just explore the wim and as if it was just a normal file structure and allow me to edit or replace shortcuts? also if there is, will all the startmenu stuff be in the standard windows installed location, or a special one for the wim format?
Thanks a bunch! also this build of yours is AWESOME, going to really simplify my life once I figure this stuff out and can completely customize it.
Nope.
I use the latest 64-bit 7zip to edit .wim files.
7zip used to only read wims. Thanks
Hey Gandalf, thanks for creating the Iso. Can you add Antivirus Programs like Eset Online Scanner,Avira PC Cleaner and Emsisoft Emergency Kit to your Iso.
Greatings from Germany
Andreas
can you install NTPWEdit for future versions
It is installed in this version already.
Hello, was just wondering how you got the offline functions of Double Driver working? In my case the command line just tells me ‘call to OS function failed’ when trying to back up drivers. Works fine on my 32-bit image and a few other apps on the 64-bit image have the same problem so I’m just trying to figure out what’s missing. Cheers!
I didnt do anything. I just works
I usually use memtest86 and Seatools on Hirens/FF’s UBCD as my goto’s when Diagnosing a PC.
What Memory & HDD Diagnosis utilities on this disc do you recommend?
You can try these two portable apps. Just save to your USB
HDTune http://www.portablefreeware.com/index.php?id=182 &
MemTest http://www.portablefreeware.com/?id=986
Hi there
Thank you for all the effort you put in to your builds.
How did you learn all this stuff? Can you recommend something?
I’d be great to have the VMware drivers included in the ISO. Would that be possible or can I do that on my own?
cheers
Kurt
Try making your own by using winbuilder. There is a bit of a learning curve, but it’s a starting point.
Hi Gandalf, your work is absolutly fine. Thank you so much for this as building WinPE can be difficult my yourself. My question is : is it possible to change the wallpaper of the WinPE? I would love to add my own nature background to look at as i work :) Of course not trying to remove your credit :) just wanted to customize it a bit :)
Thank you for your time in replying
If you dont have the latest 7zip get it and install http://www.7-zip.org/a/7z920.msi or for 64bit http://www.7-zip.org/a/7z920-x64.msi and also download ultraiso portable from here http://ultraiso-portable.software.informer.com/
open the iso with 7zip and goto the sources folder and extract the boot.wim
Open the boot.wim with 7zip and browse to \Windows\Web\Wallpaper\Windows\
rename the file you want to use to img0.jpg and replace the one in the \windows\Web\Wallpaper\Windows\
Save boot.wim and now open the original iso with ultraiso and browse to the sources folder and place edited boot.wim back into the iso and then save as a different iso name in case something went wrong, you will still have the original..
Thank you very much, i was looking in the system32 folder for winpe.jpeg but noticed that wasn’t the proper file.
Once again, thank you for sharing your good work, it’s much appreciated.
UltraISO will only distribute a trial version that won’t make changes beyond 300mb so that doesnt work anymore. any suggestions for a different editor?
Thanks for this tool. Downloaded and added it to a 16Go with Rufus. Just tested it on a Win 7 pro laptop and it works fine.
Only thing is that I didn’t get network (rj45 and wifi).
Intel Dual Band Wireless-N and Intel Ethernet Connection 1218-LM are mentioned but not active.
Is there a way I could add these drivers to the build? I have a back up of both on my disk with the .ini, .dat, .cat, .inf and .sys plus 3 .dll for the latter.
Thanks again.
Try my instructions here http://windowsmatters.com/2015/11/13/injecting-drivers-to-any-gandalfs-winpe/ and excuse the raspy voice, was late at night and i was trying to whisper. :)
One last question for me, is there a reason the ”show desktop” button doesn’t work? I used to get around with WIN+M to minize all windows and show desktop but I have a program that stays fullscreen as it works (macrium) and i can’t do WIN+M to minimize it or WIN+D to show the desktop. Manually creating a shortcut to show desktop ( %windir%\explorer.exe shell:::{3080F90D-D7AD-11D9-BD98-0000947B0257} ) doesn’t work either. Any way to make it work? Would be the last thing to have the perfect PE :)
Thank you for your time.
Also for all the people asking Gandalf to build this or that, come on, he is generous enough to share his work, don’t start asking him to build custom PEs for you, have some decency :)
Try this app http://www.4t-niagara.com/tray.html
I use Win+D to minimize all windows, and it works in Win10PE as well.
Absolutely Amazing WindowsPE build. Thank you so much for creating this and letting us little turdlings use it. =)
Will you be building a Win10PE with the Redstone 1 update, or is that not worth the time? (I’m not aware of all the changes made to it from TH2.)
yes I will. Redstone I hear is scheduled for the summer of 2016
Hi, I have a question. Is there any easy way to install additional applications (by installers) when I burn the ISO on a USB drive (e.g. by using Rufus)?
I installed AOMEI backupper. It worked fine right after installation (I could browse system images etc.), but the state of the installed software did not persist after I rebooted (or removed the USB drive). I installed the software on the Y: drive so the installation directory was preserved, but obviously the installer also made changes to the X: drive (maybe installed drivers to Windows directory or changed the registry), so when I tried to run it from the installation directory, browsing system images did not work any more.
Is there a way to overcome this, e.g. can the Windows registry and user space and other things used by installed applications be moved to the persistent part of the USB drive and somehow pointed to?
I would like to use the ISO for troubleshooting the OS and for testing some software (AnnApp – on .NET), for which I would also need the ability to install some additional Windows applications.
Links:
AOMEI Backupper: http://www.backup-utility.com/free-backup-software.html
IGLib & AnnApp: http://www2.arnes.si/~ljc3m2/igor/iglib/
http://www2.arnes.si/~ljc3m2/igor/software/AnnApp/
You need to install apps that are portable ( dont need an installation) on the usb. There is a portable version of AOMEI Backupper out there but you can also install the downloaded version you have to your PC and then copy the installation folder c:\program files\AOMEI Backupperto your USB. It doesnt seem to write any registry entries.
Thanks a lot for your answer!
I will consider it as confirmation that there are no simple generic ways to deal with non-portable applications.
I see now there is a portable version of AOMEI Backupper around, and the problem I had with simply copying the installation folder seems do be related to drivers. I saw some related posts on their forums, like this one:
http://www.aomeitech.com/forum/discussion/933/backupper-portable-and-64bit-pe-files/p1
This may also suggest what to try with other non-portable applications, but that’s very case-to-case with lots of hacking.
Hi, I want to install windows 7 x64 on UEFI machine which doesn’t support Legacy/CSM mode, since without CSM mode, windows 7 installer can’t be booted. So I wonder if I can use this Win10PE to install the windows 7.
What I plan to do is:
1) Integrate the windows 7 installer folder to the Win10PE.
2) After Win10PE is booted and run, then I run the setup.exe from Windows 7 installer folder.
Do you think it’s possible?
If so, I need to know how to integrate the windows 7 installer folder, if I just copy the windows 7 installer folder into the usb flash disk, would it be alright?
In the system tools folder there is an folder called windows setup and in there an app called winNTsetup3. Give that a try
More info found here http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/149612-winntsetup-v386/
Thanks, that tool is really helpful.
Maybe you should try easy2boot. It gives you the abliity to boot multiple ISO’s including a whole section of windows install options. Also you can include a copy of Gandalf’s awesome bootable windows 10. Just keep in mind there is a little extra configuration if you want to add WINPE ISO’s. There are pleanty of great tutorials to get you going at the easy2boot website.
Gandalf Thanks again for all your great work! Still looking forward to the next release.
I’ve been unable to add HTA and PowerShell packages for some reason. Is there any chance you would be able to include these packages in a future update?
Is it possible to get it default boot into teamviewer maybe VNC if teamviewer having troubles to run on system account?
This version logs in as admin. Teamviewer works fine.
Thanks for releasing this tool!
Thanks for the great tool!
How can I change the system language (and IME)? I want to use Traditional Chinese (Taiwan), Some of my documents and applications are in Chinese
and can not be displayed/searched with WIN10PE.
O arquivo não está ou foi apagado do onedrive. Poderia posta-lo lá novamente? Desde já agradeço! Obrigado!
Yes it is there.
sim é isso aí.
hi, i try make a bootdisk.
but meet some error on loading win/system32 file
means boot failed with file missing. any instruction to rebuild that?
Need more info than that
ok i try build a bootable drive with Easy2boot.
once everything done, i boot with the iso.
windows boot manager show me error & need repair windows with missing
windows/system32/ntoskrnl.exe
similar photo below:
http://i.stack.imgur.com/Ixr4P.jpg
Sounds like an issue with how your creating it in Easy2boot. If we take Easy2boot out of the mix, does it boot? Burn the iso to usb using Rufus and see what happens.
ok will try it later~
thx reply
If you are trying to load Gandalf’s ISO on an easy2boot drive it requires additional setup steps. There is a guide on the easy2boot website. I have included a link below. If the link does not appear search the easy2boot website for all tested payloads and find Gandalf in the list and follow the link there.
http://www.easy2boot.com/add-payload-files/winbuilder-and-winpe-isos/
Gandalf thanks again for the awesome work you are doing and for taking the time to answer our questions. looking forward to the next release!
ok thx bro~
will follow the link and try it later~
Hey Gandalf,
Thanks for this share really awesome and very handy to use. I just have one problem when i try to mount a NAS Storage device i get the error message “The specified network name is no longer available.” I was just wondering if any one else has had this issue or if someone knows a fix. Thanks in advance for your help.
Onedrive link is off :(
Can you upload the ISO again?
should be working again now.
Hi Gandalf
Onedrive and Mega links are off …
Try Now
Hi Gandalf, is this includes live persistance? or do you know any tool that can achieve that?
Thanks, Manos.
Hi bro, I load Gandalf’s ISO on an USB.
When I boot up the win 10 PE, I cannot connect the internet.
How can I connect the internet using the win 10 PE?
It is likely missing the driver for your system. Check here http://windowsmatters.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=2852&action=edit
This is AMAZING work, dude. Thank you so much.
Does this boot fine on a UEFI machine which has no legacy options???
Any way to significantly trim the size down? We are using the Win7 version and it’s at about 480MB. This one as it sits is at 1.2GB. Would like to get it sized down if possible.
Edit the wim with the latest 7zip which allow you to resave the changes. Go to the boot.wim\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\ folder and sort by date. Any folders with a date of 4/24/2016 are drivers I added for my systems. You can try removing those. Should cut it down to about half size.
Hey Gandalf,
Love your work, I wanted to know if there is a way
for me to add the windows 10 network manager (or a similar looking program that manages wifi network connections)?
It’d be great if you could point me out to the way of
doing so.
The PE Network Manager can be used. You can also setup profiles with it. the end of this video shows connecting to a wifi network with it. http://windowsmatters.com/2015/01/19/adding-a-wireless-driver-to-any-gandalfs-winpe-after-boot-up/
The PE Network Manager does work, but I am looking for a more user friendly UI (the default Windows network manager is perfect). Is there a way to get such a manager?
Symantec detected several viruses in the unpacked ISO in the Ammyy_Admin_v34 folder. It seems this is a remote monitoring bug. Is that correct?.
Its a false positive.
See these notes http://www.ammyy.com/en/admin_mu.html
https://forums.malwarebytes.org/topic/175680-ammyy-admin-false-positive-riskwareraammyy/
Hi Gandalf,
Kudos to u 4 creating a really useful Windows PE.
My problem with it is whenever I re-create the boot.wim file using gimagex with my added files, like ghost32, I put the link in the \programs\HD Tasks\Imaging\Ghost folder and the ghost32.exe into the ghost_l folder, when I boot the iso I get the winload.exe not found error, and yet it is in the boot.wim file I created with gimagex.
What am I doing wrong ?
Even if I make no changes at all and just re-create the boot.wim file I get the winload.exe not found error.
Hi Gandalf:
First off, thank you for a wonderful PE I just have two questions, though:
1: Why does it take SO LONG for the .wim to open up? I clocked it at around 35 minutes (albeit, it’s coming off a USB2 Flash Drive, not USB3, so that might have something to do with it, I guess….) But in general…..does 32bit Wim environments always load up faster than 64 bit?
2: Arsenal Image Mounter. :( It just isn’t loading. I get a Fatal Error, and then when I acknowlege it, it gives off Another error before exiting back to the desktop. Could it be because it’s coming in conflict with other files being loaded up? It find it surprising because it comes with its own DLL’s so….I’m not even sure how to get this fixed. Maybe you can help on that.
Thank you in advance.
Kapt Blasto
(PS: I created a RAW .IMG file that I want to trick your PE into thinking it’s a Hard disk so I can partition it. and put windows 10 x64 onto it. and load it portably. but right now I just want to see if I can bring up the file like a fake drive.)
Tried to launch Acronis but it’s getting an application error. :( Any idea?
Thanks a million Randalf this Pe Disk of yours is fantastic well done
thanks for the great tool.
how to add manually some applications in this tool.
we help
Hi Gandalf,
how can I add some programms/tools to the startup folder. I need to run them automatically after boot. Where are the right startup scripts (like startnet.cmd in winPE) stored to modify them in the mounted boot.wim?
Thanks
open the boot.wim file located in the sources folder and open with latest version 7zip (which allows you to open and save to wim files). In the boot.wim find the win10pe.cfg file in the windows\system32 folder. Open that with a text editor.
In the autorun section of the file add the commands you want to start at run. Use the format shown below
nowait|program to start name|Y:\Programs\program to start folder\program to start name.exe
Once done save the file back to the boot.wim
Make sure to put the corresponding programs you want to start in the Programs folder of your usb drive and that they are portable applications or don’t require an installation.
I’m not able to edit anything inside the ISO using 7-zip, i keep getting “Not Implemented”
I searched on Google, can’t really find a solution.
make sure you are using the latest version of 7zip. And it lets you edit the wim NOT the iso.
Yeah i’ve just installed the latest version, now i get “operation is not supported”.
I know that i should edit the wim file, but what i’m also trying to do is install different portable apps, so i’m also getting an error that i cannot because it’s a “read only” file.
of course i made sure that the “read only” option is not checked.
Any way to increase the Ramdisk Size to max available? IE if i have an 8gb system make it 7ish gb? 4gb system 3ish gb, etc. thanks.
no
Any chance of an x32 version?
Sorry, just seen your initial comment about being able to run x32 programs.
